/SPYLIST

Operates the same as /LIST but includes +s and +p channels in the output, regardless of if the oper is a member of the channel or not, and exposes channel keys. ABUSIVE: USE WITH CAUTION!

/SPYNAMES [#channel]

Operates the same as /NAMES but allows the oper to see inside a +s or +p channel, and see the +i users upon that channel, regardless of if the oper is a member of the channel or not. ABUSIVE: USE WITH CAUTION!

This module is basically similar in idea to the hybrid OPERSPY command. This is not a module for spying on private messages, or channel messages, or spying on anything of that nature!. Do not come to our channel asking why you cant spy on users messages or we will abuse you with the wide end of a tennis racket! The idea of moving this command into a seperate module, rather than making it a core feature available to all opers, is to allow admins to have more control over what their opers can do, and allow for InspIRCd to be non-abusive as standard.

Using SPYLIST with xchat's channel list window

With other clients, such as mIRC, typing /SPYLIST will automatically bring up the client's LIST window. However, with xchat this is not the case, typing /SPYLIST instead dumps the channels to the current window, which is not very useful. The workaround for this is as follows:

1. Go to the Window menu in xchat
2. Bring up the Channel List window by selecting it from this window. Set the settings you want for the list output, such as any regexps or channel size settings. Once you are done, do NOT click Apply or the window will use normal LIST instead of SPYLIST.
3. Go back to any other window and type /SPYLIST
4. The output of /SPYLIST is captured to the Channel List window, rather than the current window, and you can now apply filters etc. to it.
