What Type of Formatting Should Be Used
There are two types of formatting, I believe, that should be decided upon. Whether we will restrict the amount of information shown about a network, and use a single-line format. Or, do we allow more information to be shown and use a two-line format. Discuss it here.
One-Line Table
If you just want one-line per table, please comment here and place your signature here by typing the ~ character four times in succession. More information about signatures
I think we should limit the amount of information shown for an IRC network, and go with the one-line format. If they want more information shown, or if a person wants to find more information, they can goto the network's website (or wiki, or forums, or whatever they may have). eLement 23:02, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Two-Line Tables
If you just want two-lines per table, please comment here and place your signature here by typing the ~ character four times in succession. More information about signatures
Information Added to the Description
I may just be obsessive compulsive, about the formatting of this page, but we need to keep the descriptions short and sweet. When using the one-line format, when you add more information you make the table look all funky. Some people are adding useless, or overly descriptive, descriptions to the networks.
Above, we are discussing whether the format should be changed or not. Here, we will discuss what information we should allow/disallow. These original values were added by eLement 23:02, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
What Should Not Be In The Description
- Saying the network uses InspIRCd, unless it is a forked version.
- Useless text such as: "For More Information...". If the website URL is listed, they'll know where to go for more information.
Comments
List anything you think should be added / removed. Do not remove an item just because you disagree with it and sign your comment with the ~ character in succession four times.
What Is Optional In The Description
- Any aliases the network make have (Shortened versions, or older names it may have been known by).
- Website URL (Stating whether the site is down or under construction is acceptable as well)
- Services package Name/Version
- Any stats services, or security services (NeoStats, IRCDefender)
- Head administrator
- Listing whether the network is private or moderated.
- Whether host cloaking is enabled/disabled.
- And others, not limited by the What Should Not Be Included section.

Blah, let them put what they want as long as it remains ethical. Majic 23:06, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
